Hercules had chances in the first half, but VVSB was a little better. That resulted in the opening goal for VVSB three minutes before the break. Top scorer Leroy George hit the target. The former FC Utrecht player did so on the instructions of Jesse van Nieuwkerk. 1-0 was the halftime score.
