VV Utrecht beats Dynamo: ‘Playing at eighty percent’

VV Utrecht beats Dynamo Playing at eighty percent

UTRECHT – The volleyball players of VV Utrecht defeated Dynamo 3-1 at home. The Utrecht ladies are thus hooking up to the sub-top of the Eredivisie.

Dynamo won the first set 27-25. In the second set, the teams were also not inferior to each other. VV Utrecht was finally able to cheer: 25-21. In the third set, VV Utrecht gave the set win a good follow-up. Dynamo was pulverized 25-12. The last set was more exciting, but once again the debutant was in charge of the Eredivisie: 25-20. Jolien Sinnema was top scorer on the side of VV Utrecht with seventeen points.

Making top teams difficult

Ali Moghadassian’s team is still waiting six games in the regular competition. They then go into the quarterfinals of the play-offs for the national championship. In this, VV Utrecht can make it difficult for the top teams, believes Moghadassian. “We have proven that it is possible. We have won against everyone except Sliedrecht Sport and Team22. Team22 is not participating in the play-offs.”

Players think that matches like today can be done at eighty percent

Moghadassian expects to see a different VV Utrecht in the play-offs than, for example, the duel with Dynamo. “Everyone is then more motivated and sharper than in these kinds of competitions. Here they unconsciously think it is also possible at eighty percent. That is something to learn from.”

Ranking

VV Utrecht remains sixth in the Eredivisie with thirty points from sixteen games. The gap with number five Region Zwolle is only one point.
