(Finance) – Vueling returned it early secured loan received from the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) to deal with the long period of inactivity as a result of the pandemic. Of the sum disbursed in May 2021, equal to 262 million euros, the airline was asked to return 223 million.
The increase in revenues and profits suggested to the Vueling board the decision to repay in advance the amount due (which would have been repaid in January 2026, avoiding exposure to the increase in interest rates. In the summer quarter, Vueling had a turnover of 1,081 million euros, recording an operating profit of 282 million euros.
