A 55-year-old is charged with voyeurism after St. Thomas police say a woman was secretly filmed while inside a retail store – and investigators are suggesting there may be more complainants who’ve not yet come forward.

St. Thomas police say it was October when a woman was secretly filmed inside what they called a “retail store.” Police gave no other details about the case.

Police described voyeurism as the act of secretly observing either directly, through mechanical or electronic means or video recording a person in a private situation.

Duane Stacey of Aylmer, 55, is charged with voyeurism.

St. Thomas police say they’re seeking the public’s help in their investigation. Anyone with information about the case or the accused is asked to contact them at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Ontario Provincial Police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect after an indecent act was committed toward a young person in Tillsonburg.

Police say officers responded to an address on Queen Street in Tillsonburg on Dec. 28 around 1:45 pm following reports of an after-the-fact indecent act complaint involving a young person. Police say the suspect was described as a white man in his late 30s or early 40s with a light to medium complexion, dark hair, a mustache and “sparse hairs” on his chin.

A photo of a suspect vehicle, a black pickup truck, was made public.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the vehicle to contact Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Two face drug charges after Hanover traffic stop

Two people face multiple drug-trafficking and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Hanover early Tuesday.

Just before 3:30 am, Hanover police stopped a vehicle that had initially refused to stop and attempted to flee before it abruptly pulled over at the intersection of 10th Street and 5th Avenue, police said.

A 37-year-old Markdale man who was driving the vehicle and a 40-year-old woman of no fixed address who was a passenger were arrested.

Officers searched the vehicle and seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, Canadian currency, a stun gun, a collapsible baton, knives, break-in tools and other items, police said. The accused duo faces a raft of drug-related charges. The driver was also charged with impaired driving, police said.
