Fact: They have the most Alpine World Cup victories
86: Ingemar Stenmark, Sweden (last win 1989).
82: Mikaela Shiffrin, USA (active).
82: Lindsey Vonn, USA (2018).
67: Marcel Hirscher, Austria (2019).
62: Annemarie Moser-Pröll, Austria (1980)
Shiffrin was superior in the World Cup giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. In doing so, the American took her 82nd World Cup victory – and tied Lindsey Vonn’s record.
— I’m really happy for Mikaela. Now it’s her turn to pave the way for the next generation, says Vonn to AP.
As early as next week, Shiffrin could be past Vonn. This if she takes a victory in the Austrian Flachau.
— I knew right from the start that she would be the one to break all the records. But to be able to do it at such a young age is really impressive, says Vonn.

Ingemar Stenmark has taken the most Alpine World Cup victories of all. According to Vonn, it’s a matter of when rather than if Shiffrin will touch Stenmark’s record – and then break it.
— Reaching Ingemar Stenmark’s 86 wins was always the ultimate goal for me, but with the injuries I sustained it was simply not possible. For her there are no limits. I don’t think Stenmark necessarily needs to be the benchmark. She will set the new standard and we will just have to wait and see how far she can go.
