HOUTEN – The volleyball players of Taurus have suffered a surprising defeat in the Eredivisie. Number penultimate VCN was 3-2 too strong for the visitors from Houten. The ladies of VV Utrecht lost 0-3 at home against Eredivisie leader Team22.
Taurus gave up a 0-2 lead in sets. The set positions in the last regular league match for the Houtenaren were 17-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-22 and 15-11. As is often the case, Hans van Westrienen was the top scorer at Taurus, scoring fifteen points.
The team from Houten now enters the B-group. Relegation is not possible. Because Taurus finished sixth in the regular competition, they start the B-group with four points. The B-group consists of six teams and they play against each other twice.
VV Utrecht loses after reaching the cup final
VV Utrecht did not succeed in reaching the cup final earlier this week. The set positions in the 3-0 lost game against Team22 were 21-25, 17-25 and 16-25. Jolien Sinnema collected the most points for VV Utrecht, nine in all.
The Eredivisie debutant from Utrecht was already assured of the quarter-finals for the national championship. VV Utrecht is sixth in the Eredivisie with thirty points from seventeen matches.
