Sweden is chasing a historic promotion to the 2025 volleyball World Cup and, if it succeeds well in the Golden League where twelve of Europe’s best nations play, can reach the championship via the world ranking.
The final WC places are awarded in August and are based on the world ranking. All competitive matches affect how a nation will be ranked.
The goal is first and foremost to get to the Golden League’s Final Four games in the Czech Republic on June 15-16. The winners and silver medalists there get the chance to qualify for the Volleyball Nations League, the national tournament, which is played between the world’s top volleyball teams. The qualifying tournament is called the Challenger Cup and will be played in Manila, Philippines, July 4-7.
