Volleyball: After the volleyball gold: “It’s twelve guys who play against each other and in the end Halmstad wins”

– It was probably the last and it was emotional, says Hyltes Dardan Lushtaku with tears in his eyes from the inner pitch as the players celebrate with the loud crowd to SVT Sport.

– This has been such a big part of my life, Lushtaku explains as the tears continue to flow.

Service errors resulted in two match points

Floby made a service error and Hylte advanced to 14-12 and two match points. A timeout followed and Hylte decided directly and won the tiebreaker 15-12. The gold caps were taken out of a box on the pitch and the home fans could cheer for the men’s twelfth gold.

Floby led 2-0 in the set and had 10-7 and 11-9 in the tiebreaker before Hylte was able to turn around and take home the match and the gold.

– It is probably not possible to immediately put into words this loss. We lead 2-0 and can’t tie the knot, which makes it extra heavy. If we had lost 3-0 and been completely overrun, there would not have been much to do. We know we had it in us to win and it’s hard, but they were the best when it mattered, says Floby’s Viktor Lindberg.
