What is a vocational baccalaureate?
The professional baccalaureate is a national diploma allowing professional integration candidates received after a three-year course. It’s made of seven compulsory tests. Candidates can opt for one or two optional tests (modern language, EPS and mobility). In parallel with their school curriculum, high school students on the professional path alternate with on-the-job training periods ranging from 18 to 22 weeksdistributed over the three years of training.

The professional baccalaureate is prepared from the age of 16, in a specific establishment, namely a apprentice training center (CFA), a Rural family home (MFR) or a vocational high school (private or public).

The general written tests take place on Tuesday June 13, Wednesday June 14, Thursday June 15, Friday June 16, then from Monday June 19 to Friday June 23, 2023. As for the results of the vocational baccalaureate, they will be communicated from Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

In the vocational baccalaureate, students study different subjects (French, mathematics, science, economics, management-law, history-geography, moral and civic education, modern language, PE, physics-chemistry), throughout their course. And this, in addition to their specialty and their internship periods in companies which are also counted and even compulsory for the success of their exams. To pass the exam, you must obtain a general average equal to or greater than 10/20.

What is the level of a professional baccalaureate
The level of a vocational baccalaureate diploma is equivalent to level 4 (like the general or technological baccalaureate), that is to say that it allows either to start a trade, or to continue higher education with a BTS for example, spread over 2 years and giving rise to a level 5.
What jobs can you do with a professional baccalaureate?
Once the Bac Pro diploma has been obtained, your child has several options:
- Directly integrate the labor market in a sector related to his training.
- Pursue your studies via a BTS or a BUT and thus access a Bac+2 level while having acquired additional skills or/and having specialized more in a trade.
