The oil spill that was located along the coast in northwestern Scania is judged to be smaller than previously feared, according to the rescue service. The advice against bathing and contact with the water remains until the morning.
On Saturday evening, the rescue service issued a VMA – important message to the public – after a small amount of oil reached the beaches north of Helsingborg. There was then a concern that more oil could be found further out in the open water.
During Sunday morning, the Coast Guard checked the area off the beaches with an oil recovery vessel to check the extent of the spill.
