Vladimir Putin expands the Russian army by 180,000 soldiers

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expanding the Russian army by 180,000 soldiers, reports Reuters. The decision was communicated on Monday in a decree on the Kremlin’s website.

Now the army will have a size of 1.5 million soldiers, but it is still unclear how the mobilization will take place. BBC reports that it is the third time that Putin has ordered to expand the army after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
