(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Visionarea ArtSpace inaugurates the new season in dialogue with Rome and its natural and monumental heritage : in absolute preview from 24 November to 14 January 2023, the exhibition Nature loves to hide, edited by Ornella Paglialonga with works by Benedict Pietromarchi.
On display 8 inspired sculptures at statues of the Vittorio Emanuele II Bridge And 2 large artist canvases born from the lands of the Tiber river, to recall the its beauty and hidden nature in a double perspective: on the one hand the strictly visual one linked to materials such as the lands, L’water they natural elements; on the other transforming the occasion in a moment of reflection to talk about history, geological change, the need to create a balance between man and animal and, finally, to still observe art as a possible dimension related to fantasy.
There show – explains the note – was born from the gaze of Pietromarchi a few meters from the Auditorium della Conciliazione, from Ponte Sant’Angelo to Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, at the point where the Tiber river stands out, where below we can see a habitat made up of numerous creatures and a muddy and vibrant lagoon vegetation. As is often the case in the practice of Pietromarchi, the lands close to the places where he works are used for the production of his works and, for this exhibition, the canvases on display are made with the lands of the Tiber river, suggesting a sort of guide towards the water.
Located at the Conciliazione Auditorium, VISIONAREA – with the support of the Culture and Art Foundation, an instrumental body of the Third Pillar Foundation – International, chaired by Emmanuel FM Emmanuel – with Nature loves to hide, thus confirms the its vocation as a contemporary outpost in constant comparison and dialogue with Rome, interpreting new trends and relating them to the heritage enhancement.
“Benedetto Pietromarchi entrusts this exhibition with a precise message: the urgency to rediscover a more natural dimension, also through art – almost primordial – of human existence. It does so by working in close dialogue with the surrounding area, which it enhances through the use of natural materials (the lands on the banks of the Tiber, for example) and the conceptual reference to the local flora and fauna. The preferred medium is clay, which the artist chooses for its plasticity and because it is a material that allows direct working, physical contact, the relationship with the body. Among other things, I am pleased to mention that Pietromarchi, in the past, he collaborated with the artist Niki de Saint Phalle – to whom I dedicated a large exhibition at Palazzo Cipolla in 2009 – for the creation of the Tarot Garden in Capalbio, and in 2018 he was among the protagonists of the widespread exhibitionalso promoted by the Third Pillar Foundation, entitled “Urban Forest” in Palermo”, he comments Emmanuel FM EmmanuelPresident of the Third Pillar Foundation – International
