Visa scandal shakes the Polish government – a month before the election

Polish embassies must have used companies that would recruit labor immigrants and in connection with that a large number of Schengen visas must have been sold, says SVT’s European correspondent Christoffer Wendick.

It is not completely determined how many visas are involved.

– Ten thousand or a hundred thousand, that’s how it sounds from the opposition, but the government says it could be a couple of hundred, he says.

The Polish election is a month away and it is highly likely that the truth about the incident will not have arrived by then.

– This has become a great gift to the opposition, which is chasing the government, he says.
