Representatives of the Presidency of the European Council and the European Parliament (EP) agreed on the draft regulation on visa-free travel to Kosovo citizens.
VISA-FREE TRAVEL
According to the statement made by the European Council, when the draft is approved by the Council and the EP, Kosovo passport holders will be able to travel to the EU without a visa for 90 days. Significant progress has been made in all aspects of Kosovo’s visa liberalization roadmap.
Following the EU Commission’s proposal on 10 October, the Council started negotiations with the EP on a visa exemption for Kosovo on 30 November.
THEY APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP TO THE EU
Kosovo leaders signed the petition for EU membership on December 14, Prime Minister Albin Kurti described the moment of signing as “historic” for his country.
On the other hand, EU countries Spain, Slovakia, Romania, Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration do not recognize Kosovo. (AA)
