This year, the 35th edition of the Visa pour l’image festival places particular emphasis on the impact of climate change. Among the exhibitions which deal with this subject, that of the French photojournalist Sandra Mehl. His title : Louisiana, the first climate refugees in the United States. The photographer followed the inhabitants of Isle de Jean-Charles, in Louisiana, an island threatened with disappearance.

Located in southeastern Louisiana, Isle de Jean-Charles has lost 98% of its surface area since 1955. It is now a thin strip of land surrounded by the waters of the bayou.
