Starting a new covid vaccination round against the coronavirus is not necessary. That is what the OMT-V says in an advice. The reason for this advice is that many people have now built up immunity and become less ill in the event of an infection, NOS reports this afternoon. Minister of Health Ernst Kuipers shared the advice with the House of Representatives today. New variants of the coronavirus may emerge, which may lead to an increase in the number of infections. These are expected to be relatively mild, so that people cannot become very ill. A new booster round would yield only a slight increase in antibodies, experts say. It is not yet certain whether the OMT-V advice will be adopted. The minister says he will inform the House about this soon.
