Violent snowstorm across California – worst in decades

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A storm has moved in over California and other states, leaving nearly a million people without power. Thousands of flights have been canceled or delayed and several highways have been closed.

Roads are impassable, and even low-lying parts of Southern California that normally don’t get snow have been transformed into winter wonderlands. Authorities in Los Angeles have issued warnings for life-threatening flooding in areas near waterways.

Also densely populated areas, highways and areas previously ravaged by forest fires are in the risk zone for both floods and landslides. Both the central parts of Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills are in the risk area according to the authorities.
