Violence in Stockholm Solna Fruangen Jordbro Skarpnack

Published: Just now

The dark-clad figure shoots towards the front door in the stairwell.

Then car chase, crash, murder, explosion and more gunshots.

After the eight-hour explosion of violence, the rest of the weekend becomes a long nervous wait for new acts.

And on Monday, new problems can await the police.

Hundreds of police officers are called to Stockholm. Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer walks around Solna and rages against “domestic terrorists”.

It’s Saturday in the capital.

The day after the night of chaos when the alarms go off and the police, ambulance and technicians are called to address after address.

Shoots with automatic weapons

As the weekend wraps up on Sunday night, more shots have been fired and even more young boys and men have been arrested. But the police believe they have achieved the objective that the extra resources would entail.

At least on this day.

“JUST NOW: The Stockholm police are being reinforced – about a hundred are being called in • “To prevent more murders”, it says in a news notice that Aftonbladet sent at 19:24 on Saturday evening.

A day earlier, there was a heavy downpour in the capital.

Violent Friday begins shortly after 6 p.m. with a shooting that echoes in the residential area.

“JUST NOW: Alert about shooting south of Stockholm,” said the news notice at 6:26 p.m.

Film spreads

Several shots are fired with automatic weapons at a door in an apartment building in Fruängen. The intended target is not at home. But relatives are in the apartment. Nobody gets hurt.

A video purported to show the shooting was circulated over the weekend. The footage shows several shots being fired at an apartment door and appears to have been filmed by one of the perpetrators.

Experienced commissioner Gunnar Appelgren believes that the gang criminals build their brand by spreading the material.

– It is a form of disturbance in the empathy function and people think it is cool to murder and spread it. It is worrying. Today, society is me-focused with influencers and social media. It’s a bit like how some rappers present themselves.

Chaos Friday continues in Stockholm’s southern suburbs.

Crashes at roundabout

The police avert a shooting at an apartment building in Hammarbyhöjden about an hour after the crime in Fruängen. The address is linked to the ongoing gang conflicts that plague the capital’s population.

Police begin the hunt for suspected perpetrators. The car crashes at Gullmarsplan. A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old are arrested. There is an automatic weapon in the car. An adult man escapes and is later apprehended on a nearby boat.

“JUST NOW: Young boys with automatic weapons in violent crash at roundabout – chased by police • One arrested on boat in marina”, reports Aftonbladet at 10:04 p.m.

Nine minutes later:

“JUST NOW: Alarm about shooting north of Stockholm, according to information”.

A man in his 40s is shot to death in Huvudsta centrum in Solna north of Stockholm.

May have been accidentally shot

Later, information will indicate that the man was killed accidentally.

– He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was there eating with his friends, a source told Aftonbladet on Sunday.

Just over an hour later, something, reportedly a hand grenade, detonates in a stairwell in Skarpnäck.

The bomb squad is still working at the address when new shots are fired at a front door. This time in a residential area in Tumba, a little further south from central Stockholm.

The time is then 01.45 and it will be the end of almost eight hours of craziness.

– So far we can handle the situation. But our resources are clearly not inexhaustible, says Mikael Pettersson at the Stockholm Police shortly after 02:00 on Friday night.

Chased by shooters

When it became Saturday and Minister of Justice Strömmer was surrounded by police and met with reporters in Solna, it happened again.

“JUST NOW: Alert about shooting in southern Stockholm”, writes Aftonbladet at 3:36 p.m.

A man is mistaken for the intended target and is said to have been chased for a long distance in the area. He manages to escape unharmed.

Three people were later arrested at E4 in Solna after the shooting. Two of them are only 15 years old.

Several conflicts are going on at the same time in the Stockholm area. Most of the shootings and explosions are linked to a conflict between the “Kurdish fox” and a 24-year-old leader within the Dalen network.

People in full swing

Many attacks have been directed at people with connections to these two gang members.

After the violent Friday, the reporting for the rest of the weekend is very much about the great concern.

full screen The gang criminal drug kingpin “Kurdish fox” is not in the country – but is still suspected of being a key person in the wave of violence.

The newspapers are filled with people who no longer enjoy or feel safe in their residential areas. Who, on the one hand, are thinking about moving, but who, on the other hand, don’t know where to go to escape the effects of gang violence.

Everyone is at full throttle.

Fireworks in Dalen on Saturday evening cause the police and emergency services to send out a large task after residents report “shots and screams”.

At Råstasjön in Solna, similar scenes take place on Sunday afternoon when young boys throw firecrackers.

But it is also a critical situation for the extra-called police officers who guard the capital.

“JUST NOW: Major police operation south of Stockholm – armed persons arrested after car chase, according to information”, writes Aftonbladet at 21.52.

And about an hour later:

“Details: 14-year-old would “snap someone” for “six-figure sum” – arrested with a weapon • Police allegedly ruled out murder”.

“Problems on Monday”

The weekend is over for this time. And possibly one succeeds in averting a murder.

But among the police, one suspects that Monday will be bad. With then in ways that are not as obvious to the public.

SvD stateswith reference to sources, that the work of the police is described as functioning well in the acute phase, but that there are problems when the cases are to be handed over.

It can often be about a lack of resources on the investigative side and queues for IT and forensics, the newspaper writes.

– All specialists are on standby over the weekend. Then everything works perfectly. But Monday at 8 o’clock there will be gravel in the machinery immediately, says a source for SvD.
