(Finance) – Il Council of Ministers has made it official appointment of Vincenzo Carbone as new director of the Revenue Agencysucceeding Ernesto Maria Ruffini. The announcement came today, Monday 23 December, putting an end to a phase of uncertainty following Ruffini’s resignation, made public on 13 December.
Carbone, an internal figure within the Agency and already number two on the organization chart at the headquarters in Via del Giorgione, was chosen by the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti and the Deputy Minister Maurizio Leo, confirming what was anticipated in recent days by ItaliaOggi. The appointment projects Carbone to lead the organization until January 2026.
The transfer of responsibilities between Ruffini and Carbone will take place by the end of December. Although Ruffini’s relationship with the Agency will officially end on 31 December 2024, the technical times for definitive confirmation of the appointment include further steps: two unified conferences, approval by the Council of Ministers and registration of the contract at the Court of Auditors. However, as deputy director, Carbone will already be operational as acting in the event of any delays.
