Vin Diesel reunites with creators of the original

Just last week we were wondering what became of Riddick 4: Furya when the first installment in the sci-fi series aired on TV. Lead actor Vin Diesel has repeatedly hinted in recent years that he is at one further sequel is working. However, this was never officially announced.

A few days later, the story takes an unexpected turn: Riddick actually becomes continued with part 4. The Hollywood Reporter also confirms that alongside Diesel, another big name is involved in the sequel: director David Twohy, who directed the first three films in the space saga.

What exactly Riddick 4: Furya is about is not yet known. An important point in the development of the warrior, however, is the Return to his home world be. Riddick returns to the planet he came from. He fears that it was destroyed by the Necromongers, but he finds many resistance fighters.

To date, the Riddick franchise has included three feature films and one spin-off. Pitch Black: Planet of Darkness (2000) was followed by the sequels Riddick: A Warrior’s Chronicles (2004) and Riddick: Survival Is His Vengeance (2013). The anime Riddick: Warriors of Darkness (2004) acts as a bridge between parts 1 and 2.

Sci-Fi Sequel: When Will Riddick 4: Furya Be In Theaters?

The theatrical release of Riddick 4: Fury is not yet clear. For now, Diesel is busy with the big Fast & Furious finale, which hits the big screen in two parts. Once work on Fast & Furious 10 (2023) and Fast & Furious 11 (2024) is complete, nothing should stand in the way of the new Riddick film.
