Since then, the duo’s careers have progressed very different routes.

Saros left for North America after the last June Championships and the following Championship league spring. The first NHL match slipped into the account the very next season while Husso was still playing for HIFK. After an excellent Finnish Championship league season in 2015–2016, Husso also headed for North America, but the road to bright lights was significantly longer and more rocky than in Saros.

At the same time as Husso fought in many parts in the ECHL, which is being profiled as a rock league, Saros has already played 21 matches in the NHL in the 2016-2017 season. Last season, Husso also finally got the first NHL games of his career on his belt, while Saros is increasingly clear as Nashville’s number one goalkeeper. After the season, Pekka Rinne ended his career and finally handed the torch to his younger Finnish follower.

This season, the duo are finally closer to each other than ever before after the youth national team tube. While Husso, who operates with a minimum wage, plays second-fiddle in St. Louis because of Binnington’s expensive contract, this has simply robbed the place of the Canadian as a starting goalkeeper with his furious stunning grabs.

Husso has been among the best goalkeepers in the entire NHL in recent months, as evidenced by almost all the statistics that measure the game of the grandfather. Although Husso has always been known as a talented goalkeeper, rising to the forefront of the NHL in this way is one of the toughest sensations of the NHL season.
