Villa-Lidköping a victory from the new SM final

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Villa already had 3-0 after 22 minutes, but Bollnäs bit back in the home hall. Reduced, reduced and settled.

— It feels like we each have half of the half. We’re really good before their timeout and they’re better after it. We get a sending off where we lose momentum a little and that’s how it looks all the way in from there, says Villa-Lidköping team captain Martin Karlsson to Elitserien Live.

Bollnäs turned the game around at the start of the second half, but Villa responded. The decision was long overdue. Only in the 93rd minute did Christoffer Edlund score the winning 6–5 goal.

“It’s very sad and I think we deserve to win the match,” says Bollnäs’ Oskar Westh.

Villa is by far the best team of the season so far and aims to reach a fifth straight SC final. The club lost last year’s final against Edsbyn.

The third semi-final will be played in Lidköping on Wednesday.

Västerås leads the second semi-final series, against Edsbyn, with 1–0. The clubs meet again on Tuesday evening.
