It was around 11pm on Sunday that the emergency services were called to the address in central Sävsjö. Initially, the forces did not enter the building, but began extinguishing it from the outside.
It took several hours before they succeeded in suppressing the fire and it was only at 05:30 that it was completely extinguished.
Suspected arson
According to the police, the house was currently unoccupied and no one was injured. A preliminary investigation into arson has been launched.
Police technicians will carry out an investigation once the fire scene has cooled.
