It was a neighbor who raised the alarm at 2:12 p.m. on Saturday that smoke was coming from the villa. The Östra Götaland rescue service rushed to the scene in Folkström north of Finspång.
– It started in the kitchen and has spread in the construction to the upper floor, says Martin Eriksson, officer on duty.
The emergency services are on site with two units breaking up walls and chasing smoldering fires.
– We have the situation under control, says Ulf Asplund, alarm and line operator at the rescue service to SVT at 4 p.m.
The owners of the villa were not at home when the fire started, says Martin Eriksson.
– But a dog has unfortunately died of smoke poisoning.
