The score was 1-1 when Viktor Gyökeres first found the goal at home in Lisbon.
In the 52nd minute, he got a chance after some clever defensive play from an opposing defender and splashed in 2-1.
Just four minutes later, the red-hot Swede was at it again when he poked in a cross from the left.
In addition to the two goals that were approved, the Swedish attacking star also had two goals disallowed after video review, both for offside.
Gyökeres has been successful since arriving in Portugal this summer with nine league goals. With that, he is second in the shooting league behind Braga’s Simon Banza.
With the victory, Sporting passed city rivals Benfica at the top of the table.
