Swedish national team striker Viktor Gyökeres has had a dream life in Portugal since he moved there last summer.
But now it is reported that he is disappointed with his club Sporting Lisbon – the reason is that he feels cheated.
Since the move from Coventry to Sporting Lisbon last year has Viktor Gyökeres26, managed to score 59 goals in 65 games. This year, there have been twelve league goals in nine games and he has already managed to score two goals in three games in the Champions League. Last season Sporting also won the Portuguese league title for the first time in three years.
Big disappointment
It is safe to say that Gyökeres has enjoyed life in Lisbon, where he is already adored by the fans. But now information comes from England that he, and several other players at the club, feel great dissatisfaction. The reason must be that their success coach Reuben Amorim39, rumored to take over after fired Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

The Daily Mail writes that Gyökeres and the Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand feel cheated and unhappy with the fact that Sporting and Amorim persuaded them to stay at the club this summer in order to stay and defend the league title with the star coach. The newspaper now writes that the fans and the players are disappointed with Amorim and they think he is abandoning them. So far, nothing is clear. Ruben Amorim’s move may be delayed until after the national team meeting as he has a notice period of 30 days in his current contract.
Encouraged by Mourinho
One, however, who is said to be all for a move for Amorim to Manchester United is the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinhowho also coached United before. He is said to be something of a mentor to the coach and he has encouraged the 39-year-old to accept the challenge.
Right now, United is led by the former star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy48, who during his time as a player scored 150 goals in 219 games between the seasons 00/01 and 05/06. In his debut as interim coach, Manchester United won 5-2 against Leicester in the league cup.
It remains to be seen if Ruben Amorim will take over the English giants during the season. Rumors also state that he wants to bring his superstar Viktor Gyökeres to his new club already in January, or in the summer.
We will see which club Viktor Gyökeres represents in the next half of the season, if it will be Portuguese Sporting or someone else.
