(Finance) – Vienna Airport has started the infrastructural adaptation phase that will allow the extension of the south wing of the passenger terminal. The opening of the construction site took place in the presence of the governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and the mayor of the Austrian capital. Completion of the works is expected in 2027 when the surface area of the airport spaces will be increased to 70,000 m2.
In the new terminal area it will be the shopping and restaurant offer has been expandedwith larger and more comfortable lounges, and a system of connections between the East and West piers and Terminal 3.
Vienna Airport already has the largest photovoltaic system in Austria and previously renovated Terminal 2.
