The wolf settled permanently in the Veluwe a few years ago. Youngsters were also born, and there is a good chance that they will spread further across the Netherlands, for example towards Utrecht. Some people find it exciting to hear the wolf approaching. But there’s nothing scary about it, says La Haye. “A wolf is not dangerous to humans. In fact, they are terrified of us. There are countless reasons why you can be afraid at night in a dark city, but a wolf is not one of them.”
