Video diary: They will solve the climate issue

SVT has followed Karin Wingqvist from Falun, Rose-Marie Törnvall from Gothenburg, Adrian Kjellén from Linköping and Leonardo Pool Rodriguez from Falköping.

For three months, they have taken part in research, discussed solutions and received lectures from some of Sweden’s most prominent climate scientists.

Climate proposals

  • Three effective moves against floods – area in Norrköping is climate-proofed

  • SMHI is the spider in the web for the development of climate adaptation in Sweden

  • – In the past, my concern about climate issues has been a five on a ten-point scale, but right now I feel that it has decreased, says Leonardo Pool Rodriguez from Falköping.

    Should reflect the whole society

Through algorithms, 60 people around the country have been selected to be part of the citizens’ council. Together, they will form a “mini-Sweden” that will reflect the entire society.

The assignment is that they should try to come up with solutions to the climate issue, which are then presented to politicians from both the government and the opposition.

    – The biggest thing I take with me from this is how different people with different backgrounds and opinions can still cooperate and arrive at something in common, says student Adrian Kjellén from Linköping.
