Video clips of 10-year-old Armand Duplantis spread around the world

It has been a successful summer to say the least for Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, who won Olympic gold and broke several new world records.
Even when he was a little boy, you could see that he was unique in his kind. A clip from when he was 10 years old has started circulating online – and everyone is gaping after seeing it.

He has broken his own world record nine times in four years, defying gravity time and time again and leaping over heights considered inhuman. Armand “Mondo” Duplantis24, also succeeds in defeating the world record holder in the 400 meter hurdles (Karsten Warholm) in a 100 meter duel.

Is there anything this guy can’t do? In just a few years, “Mondo” has become Sweden’s most popular athlete. The Swedish-American pole vaulter has won two Olympic golds and four World Cup golds despite his young age and is today one of the few track and field athletes that you can actually have some hope for when it comes to medal fights.

The movie everyone is talking about

This thing about Duplantis having a knack for breaking his own world records isn’t really a new phenomenon. Already since childhood, he has been one of the best track and field athletes of his generation. As a 9-year-old, he jumped 2.92 meters and just over a year later he had advanced to 3.86 meters.

A video clip showing a 10-year-old Duplantis has started to spread online and everyone is stunned to see how talented he was already at such a young age.

At just 9 years old, Mondo Duplantis cleared 2.92m, and in 2010, he broke the 10-year age group record with a jump of 3.86m.

Already 15 years ago, he stood out so much that people jumped when they saw his superiority in the arenas.

In February 2020, Armand Duplantis broke the men’s world record for the first time. His French role model Renaud Lavillenie had jumped 6.16 meters six years earlier – suddenly “Mondo” delivered 6.17 meters in Torún, Poland.

Since then, he has thus improved his record several times. During this summer’s Olympics, he not only won gold – he also broke the Olympic record and the world record (6.25 meters) in his third and final jump. Just a few weeks later, he had repeated the feat, raising the record by a centimeter.

Coach’s words: “Incredible skills”

The former pole vaulter and coach Scott Simpson has, according to the site Essentially Sports, pointed out that Duplanti’s speed at the jump is exceptionally high. In addition, he has a very fine technique with the stick.

– The speed that he brings into the jump at the end of the approach is higher than what we have previously seen from anyone else, he says and continues:

– He has a lot of speed through the jump but also has incredible skills with the stick for the speed with which it all happens – something that is quite unique to him.

Now we all join in paying tribute to our Olympic hero, Armand Duplantis. What an incredible athlete he is!
