The former national team player Caroline Victory and Olivia Schoughwho is still active in the national team, have been a couple for over seven years, and today they are engaged. Now, for the first time, they choose to talk openly about their relationship in TV4’s documentary “Kapten Seger”, which is released on Christmas Day.

Have kept love a secret
The pair, who share both club and national team memories and had successful football careers to say the least, have previously kept their love out of the public eye. Olivia Schough also explains that the media has long been respectful of their relationship.
– Most people know. The media knows but they have been very respectful when it comes to that part. We have felt that we have wanted to have our private life private simply, so that football can be his, she says.

“Didn’t want to be that icon”
One of the reasons why the relationship has not been shown openly before is that Caroline Seger did not want to become a front figure for the LGBTQ community.
– I didn’t want to become the icon that fronts the whole “community”. I know that as a person I want to please everyone and I want everyone to like me. It sounds so strange, but if I’m not a certain way, people lose respect, or I won’t be the role model that everyone expects me to be, says Caroline Seger.

“Olivia is my greatest love”
Caroline Seger’s soccer career has come to an end, but Olivia Schough will continue to play in Rosengård next year and so most of it will be about defending the 2024 SM gold.
– It’s her turn now. If soccer is my greatest love, then Olivia is definitely my greatest love-love. She shares a place with football, says Caroline.
