Tampa Bay tied the game at 2-2.
Afterwards, the Swedish star Victor Hedman was hailed.
– He led Tampa again, says former NHL player Billy Jaffe.
The conference final between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay has so far been an even story. Both teams have won both their home matches, and the matches have offered enormous drama.
Tampa’s new victory
Rangers had linked an iron grip on the series during the third game. 2-0 in matches and the same result on the board at Tampa Bay’s hometown. But then Tampa turned to 3-2 in the last minute of the match – and reduced the match series.
In the night’s fourth battle, Tampa Bay equalized the match series to 2-2, and just like in the other matches, it has been a Swede in focus. Mika Zibanejad has been the tongue in cheek in Rangers victories – Victor Hedman has been the same under Tampas.
Despite the fact that Hedman did not end up in the points protocol, it is the Swede who receives most of all the praise after the victory.
Hedman paid tribute
“Hedman was again the one who led Tampa, just like he did in the last game, and when he does it this way, you are a hard-to-beat team,” says former NHL player Billy Jaffe of the NHL Network.
The Swede was a giant during the match and was on the ice during three of Tampa’s four goals – and finished at +3 in the statistics.
Match five now awaits in Maddison Square Garden on Friday night. The winner of the conference final will face Colorado in the Stanley Cup final – which crushed Edmonton 4-0 in matches.
