no Stelvio due to avalanche risk

Victor Campenaerts won the 18th stage of the Tour de France between Gap and Barcelonnette on July 18, on a course perfect for adventurers. Arriving with three riders for the stage victory, the Belgian beat Frenchman Mattéo Vercher and Polish rider Michał Kwiatkowski. The Lotto rider, and the two other escapees, had broken away from a group of 36 riders around thirty kilometers from the finish. Slovenian Tadej Pogacar still remains the leader in the general classification.
