Police say a woman received life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the legs at a Gray Street home on Sept. 18.
Police were called to the home at about 3:30 am after a reported assault between the victim, a 21-year-old, and the accused, a 29-year-old woman from Ohsweken.
A short time later, say police, the victim suffered a second assault at the residence when she was stabbed multiple times in her legacy.
The accused is charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with a judicial release order, and weapons dangerous.
Man charged with theft from vehicle
A 25-year-old Brantford man has been charged with theft after being found near the trunk of a vehicle.
Police say officers on foot patrol spotted a man on Sept. 19 at about 1 pm in the Icomm Drive area.
The man was found with items belonging to the registered owner of the vehicle.
He is charged with theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.
Police find man unconscious in driver’s seat of vehicle
A Delhi man who police say was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle is facing charges.
Police were called at about 4:40 am on Sept. 17 about a possible impaired driver in the parking lot of a Stanley Street restaurant. They say his vehicle was running and there were open alcohol containers within his reach.
The 42-year-old has been charged with impaired driving and driving with an open container of liquor.
Man impaired by drugs hit cruiser, say police
A 25-year-old Ohsweken man is accused of hitting a cruiser and a street sign in an attempt to get away from police.
Police were called on Sept. 17 at about 5:15 pm about someone driving dangerously in the area of Wellington and King streets.
When they tried to stop the driver at McMurray and Pearl streets, police said the driver hit their cruiser and took off northbound on McMurray. Police said the driver then hit a street sign and another vehicle before stopping on Henrietta Street and trying to run away.
The accused was arrested at a Brant Avenue location and charged with dangerous operation, failure to stop, flight from police officer, and operation while impaired by drug.
Man charged with reaching into vehicle, hitting driver
An argument turned physical on Sept. 17 when a man reached into a vehicle and hit the driver, say police.
Police say a 59-year-old man sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle in a Pearl Street parking lot was approached by a stranger, who began an argument. The stranger then reached into the vehicle, hit the driver, and walked away, say police.
After a short chase, police arrested a 21-year-old Brantford man, who is charged with assault.
Items stolen from car returned, man faces theft charge
A man who police say was stealing items from a car parked on Oak Street has been charged with theft.
Police responded to a call reporting a suspicious person at about 12:30 am on Sept. 17. They say they found a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that wasn’t his. He ran away when police tried to arrest him.
Police said they recovered items that were returned to the car owner.
A 35-year-old Brantford man is charged with theft under $5,000, resist arrest and trespass/prowl near dwelling house.
Men charged with assaulting two victims
Two Brantford men, aged 24 and 30, are each charged with assault after police say two people were injured following an argument.
Police went to an Icomm Drive location after receiving a report about an assault.
They say an argument involving several people became physical and a 20-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were injured.
Impaired driver hit cars, ran stop sign: police
A 39-year-old Brantford woman faces numerous charges after a concerned citizen called police to report a driver who hit two cars and ran a stop sign.
Police were called at about 5 pm on Sept. 12 about a possible impaired driver traveling in the area of Rawdon and Marlborough streets.
The accused is charged with operation while impaired, novice driver – blood alcohol content above zero, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, and disobeying a stop sign.
Women allegedly sprayed with noxious substance
Two women were allegedly sprayed with a noxious substance by a man who hit one of them with a small bat before running away, say police.
Officers were called to a location near Darling and George streets at about 1 am on Sept. 11.
Police say the victims, aged 31 and 46, know the accused. They received medical treatment for minor injuries.
A 34-year-old Brantford man is charged with assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a judicial order.
Police say man brandished hammer in road rage incident
Police say a man wielding a hammer threatened a woman in a road rage incident on Sept. 8.
Police were called to a location on Fifth Avenue at about 4:30 pm after a reported assault. The victim’s arm was grabbed before the man fled the scene.
A 39-year-old Brantford man is charged with assault with a weapon.
Woman injured after alleged assault with bat
A 45-year-old Brantford man is charged with assaulting a 27-year-old victim with a bat.
Police went to an Elgin Street home at about 5:40 am on Sept. 7 to investigate the alleged assault and damage to a television.
The victim was treated for injuries.
Drugs found in vehicle, man faces impaired charge
A Brantford resident was arrested and charged with impaired driving after police say drugs, including fentanyl, were found in his vehicle.
At about 7:15 am on Sept. 4, police were called by employees at a Henry Street gas station regarding a possible impaired customer.
Police found a quantity of suspected Percocet, drug paraphernalia and about four grams of suspected fentanyl during a search.
A 43-year-old man is charged with operating while impaired by drugs, being a Class G1 driver unaccompanied by a qualified driver and obstruction.
Man fails to evade police by jumping in river
A man who police say tried to run away after a collision is charged with operating a stolen vehicle.
Officers were called to a collision on Glenwood Road on Sept. 3 at about 8 pm
Police say they chased the accused who attempted to evade them by jumping in the river.
A 40-year-old Ohsweken man faces several charges, including resist arrest, failure to stop after accident, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
