Verstappen starts from the top spot in the sprint race

As expected, the sprint time trial of the Formula 1 Austrian GP ended with Max Verstappen’s superiority.

World Series leader Max Verstappen was almost a tenth faster than Lando Norris. In third place, the fastest pace was held by the McLaren driver Oscar Piastri.

There was a little drama in qualifying when the Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc the car froze in the pit. It wasn’t started quickly enough, so Leclerc didn’t make it to the last lap.

Valtteri Bottas the sprint time trial ended already in the first section. He finished 18th on the grid. The sprint race is run on Saturday. The time trials for the main race will be run on Saturday and the official Austrian race will be raced on Sunday.
