(Finance) – On the 1600th anniversary of the founding of the City, Venice becomes an open-air laboratory looking at the future, a place of innovation and cultural and technological avant-garde in a sustainable way: The presentation of the Foundation took place this morning at the Doge’s Palace “Venice World Capital of Sustainability”, the project aimed at creating a plan of interventions functional to the economic, environmental, technological and sustainable growth of Venice, in line with the strategy outlined by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Born from the collaboration between the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Venice, with the dual support of national institutions and private companies (Ca ‘Foscari University and IUAV of Venice, Benedetto Marcello Conservatory, Academy of Fine Arts, Fondazione Cini, Confindustria Veneto and some important realities national including Generali, Snam, ENI, ENEL and Boston Consulting Group), the project obtained, on 21 May 2021, the adhesion of the Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta.
After the formal start of the foundation’s constitution, which took place on 20 July 2021 as part of the Climate Conference at the G20 Economy, in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance Daniele Franco, the drafting of the Statute and the definition of the governance, which was presented today, followed: the Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta will be the president; the mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro and the governor of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia the two vice presidents. Lthe Foundation will also have a Steering Committee, with a supervisory and steering function, and a Management Committee, with executive powers. The Technical Scientific Committee, the Board of Statutory Auditors and the Statutory Auditor will complete the structure.

From here it started an important work involving institutions and businesses that has now become a reality. The Foundation starts with some important projects in the ecological transition. As a Venetian I am proud to have worked on an ambitious and transversal project, in the interest of Venice, the Venetians and all those who love a place that is a candidate to become the oldest city of the future.
