(Finance) – Since the beginning of the year, i traffic flows between the’Venice airport and the North America they marked a strong recovery and an increase compared to 2019, the reference year before the crisis caused by the pandemic. From January to July, passengers who flew to/from the United States and Canada totaled 555,000, up 4% on the same period of 2019. Of these, 272,000 used the direct flights that operate this summer season and which connect Venice daily with New York JFK and Atlanta (Delta Airlines), New York Newark (United Airlines) e Philadelphia (American Airlines). Added to these are the 4 weekly flights to Toronto and Montreal operated by Air Canada and Air Transat.
In confirmation of the excellent trend, it should be noted that this year Delta Air Lines anticipated in March the connection history with New York JFK, while United Airlines is operating the route to New York Newark for the first time with a Boeing 777 aircraft with 276 seats, more capacious than the previous 214-seat B-767. All North American carriers are satisfied with flight fills, the average of which is 93%, with peaks of 96%, well above the 85% in 2019.
For 2024 the network of you fly ocean liners of Marco Polo will further strengthen: American Airlines has in fact announced the resumption of the direct Venice-Chicago flight (absent since 2019), a hub from which the company offers continuations to over 100 destinations in the American continent. Furthermore, the carrier will bring forward the Venice-Philadelphia flight to April. Tickets can already be purchased from the company’s website.
