The arrests were made during the protests after the presidential election.
Venezuelan authorities will release this weekend 225 prisoners who were arrested during the protests that followed the presidential election.
The protests broke out when Nicolás Maduro announced that he had won the presidential election in July.
The release of prisoners began early Saturday in four prisons in central Venezuela, a source in the prosecutor’s office told AFP.
The announcement of the prisoners’ release comes a day after prosecutors said they were reviewing the cases of 225 of the more than 2,400 detainees.
