Let’s go for the Vendée Globe, the biggest single-handed and non-stop race, follow the map and the ranking in real time.
Four years after Yannick Bestaven’s victory, the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe started this Sunday from Les Sables d’Olonne. And as tradition dictates, the start was given at 1:02 p.m. In 2024, will the record be broken? As a reminder, the record is held by Armel Le Cléac’h, who completed the race in 74 days 3 hours 35 minutes and 46 seconds in 2017. A record which had been established due to the “mild” conditions, notably until Cape of the Equator. Here is the real-time map of the Vendée Globe to follow the race live.
The Vendée Globe route
In total, 45,000 kilometers are on the program with 24,300 nautical miles of theoretical distance passing through three capes: Bonne Espérance, Leeuwin and Horn, all, non-stop and without assistance.

10:38 – “Not much downtime”
“The start of the race was indeed very intense: not a lot of downtime, if at all, with a very unstable wind. We were able to sleep a little at the start of this leg, up to around a hundred miles from Madeira, and after that everything started to get complicated again. There’s a whole mass of clouds blocking it, so we didn’t sleep much. The first ones stopped a bit, I hope we’ll get through! said Jérémie Beyou.
