Veenendaal Muslim community wants thorough investigation into mosques issue

Mayor Kats said in the meeting on Monday evening that he would at least like to sit down with the mosque after the summer. According to Hassan Saidi, the chairman of the Nasser mosque, no appointment has yet been made. “There have been no conversations yet, we indeed meet on the street and greet each other. We have always said, if you want to have a conversation, you have to share everything openly and transparently. We have submitted a Wob request, already in October, we are still waiting for that. Because why was there reason to investigate the mosque? That is still the main question. The officials do need sufficient time to gather all the information, of course. But we first want openness before we can normally sit down at the table. We had hoped that the research that has now been published would give a push in the right direction, but I think it is very poorly substantiated.”
