Frölunda hockey men and Önnered handball women to semi-finals. SM silver in Futsal to Gais (women) and IFK Gothenburg (men). IFK is the world’s best orienteering club on the women’s side. Carl Bengtström, Khaddi Sagnia and sailor Lovisa Karlsson athletes who excelled individually.

Last year’s winning city has had an almost equally successful year this year. Ebba Årsjö is world dominant in para skiing. Dolphins basketball did not defend both golds but took home the men’s. SM-silver for Kaskad bowling. International medals for August Mollén (orienteering), Melina Andersson (canoe) and Frid Högberg (frisbee).

Only 80,000 inhabitants, but two dynasties have been built in Norrbotten. Luleå Hockey’s ladies took the seventh gold out of the last eight. Luleå Basket women took the eighth gold out of the last ten. Both men’s teams to the quarter-finals.

Växjö Lakers took SM gold again, the fourth in a short time. Växjö IBK was in the semi-finals and the women’s soccer team is back in the women’s league. In Växjö municipality (Åby/Tjureda) the Bandy World Cup was also arranged for both men and women in bandy.

Rosengård won yet another SM gold in football. MFF failed last year but tops the Allsvenskan now. MAI is the country’s best athletics club and Malmö KK third best swimming club. And ztan’s ztore zon thanked for zig.

Clearly the best in the country in two sports. Handball, where Sävehof took gold and silver, the ladies’ 14th gold since 2006. Gold (Team Pergamon men) and silver (Team X-Calibur women) also in bowling. WC gold for Thai boxer Angela Mamic.

Huge crowds at the arenas in many places, especially Allsvenskan runner-up Djurgården and third-placed Hammarby. SM gold for Mean Machines in American football and Enskede’s tennis ladies. Neptun is the country’s best swimming sports club.

A huge winter for the Piteå clubs’ cross-country and biathlon stars. Hanna Öberg WC queen and in the long run Piteå Elite’s Jonna Sundling and Ebba Andersson took two golds each. Piteå IF top team in the women’s league.

Hylte/Halmstad is now a medal guarantee, where this year it was gold for the men, silver for the ladies. SM silver for teams also in horse jumping and golf. HBK to Allsvenskan. Karlsson/Falck, based in Halmstad, won EC gold in double word tennis.

Upsala IF’s Armand Duplantis is the world’s best athlete, several world records, WC and EC gold during the year. Storvreta back on the throne after SM gold in floorball. But several teams in various sports have fallen out of the elite this year.

Örebro Hockey shared the best season ever, close to the final. ÖSK Futsal won SM gold and the Black knights took double SM silver in American football. Marcus Ericsson, Fredrik Lindgren and Martin Regborn others who distinguished themselves.

SM silver for IBF Falun floorball and gold for the softball ladies in Falun Ravens. Falun-Borlänge’s Maja Dahlqvist won the sprint cup overall and Jenny Rissveds celebrated victories both on the road and on the mountain bike.

New gold for Team Thoren in floorball. David Åhman (with J Hellvig) won a sensational EC gold in beach volleyball and Jonna Sundling, who grew up in Umeå, won double WC gold. But several teams also had difficult seasons.

The country’s hub for elite skiers with and without rifles. Emil Persson with a record season in Ski Classics, Zebastian Modin won double World Cup gold, Martin Ponsiluoma with, among other things, World Cup silver. Semi-final for both city’s basketball teams.

City’s best SBI location. The handball men back on the throne after cup and SM gold. The soccer ladies were at the top again and qualified for the Champions League. Kristianstad’s GK Åhus took SM silver in golf.

Most champions in bandy VSK won SC gold again and is back on top, the ladies took silver, historic final double for the club. Rönnby reached the semifinals in floorball and VästeråsIrsta was close to the semis in handball.

Kalmar’s FF’s best season in a long time with fourth place (which gives SM bronze). Kalmarsund’s men and women both played quarter-finals. However, basketball newcomer YMCA Kalmar withdrew from the league after one season.

Good year in the pools where Emma Gullstrand took EC silver in diving and Jönköping Sim was the country’s second best club. Elite teams in many sports with games at the highest level in ice hockey, floorball, handball and tennis.

The city’s superstar Isabelle Haak won several titles and was named Europe’s best volleyball player. and her mother club EVS won SM gold even without its star. The city’s big audience team Rögle made it to the quarter-finals.

Still great width but real edge was missing this year. Färjestad disappeared in the quarter. but Göta was the country’s third best athletics club with Henrik Larsson at the helm. JVM gold alpine for Hanna Aronsson-Elfman.

Best SBI Rank: 17 – 2021
A sports city that lives almost entirely on its fine bandy. Villa’s ladies took their third straight gold while the men won the regular season but fell in the final. Lidköping’s TK in tennis and hockey player Rasmus Dahlin are others who are noticed.

Sara Hector did not have as good a season as last year when she won Olympic gold, but is Sandviken’s big star. Sandviken’s AIK reached the quarter-finals in bandy on both the men’s and women’s sides, and three SAIK-raised players won WC gold.

Nils van der Poel has retired but his grand slam at the sports gala and victory in the Champions of Champions may have influenced some of the jury. Kristian Karlsson’s (EC gold in table tennis) doubles and cyclist Emil Johansson’s aerial arts stand out.

SM gold for Borås AIK’s Futsal ladies. SM silver for the men in Borås Basket. Elfsborg sixth last year but strong start this year. Biathlon Jesper Nelin’s best season so far. But two elite football teams (Norrby and Bergdalen) are relegated from the elite.

AIK bandy’s big investment turned out to be a castle in the air that blew up during the year. But success for Solna TK who won the men’s tennis gold and AIK golf who won the SM for club teams. AIK football from the women’s mallsvenskan.
