Växjö has won the Swedish hockey league SHL championship. Växjö beat Skellefteå 3–0 on Monday and won the championship 4–1.
Robert Rosén gave Växjö the lead right at the end of the second period. Växjö scored the last two goals at the end of the match, the scorers were Victor Stjernborg and Ludvig Nilsson.
Emil Larmi prevented a goalless draw with Växjö’s goal. Larmi’s evening included one real ghost rescue.
NHL legend Kevin Lowe praised Larmi’s save on Swedish TV as one of the best saves he had seen.
Finnish players also got to celebrate the Swedish championship Miika Koivisto and Kalle Kossila.
For Växjö, the Swedish championship is the fourth. The previous ones are from 2015, 2018 and 2021.
The crew of Skellefteå, which lost the finals, includes a goalkeeper Frans Tuohimaa.
