Västerbotten County Administrative Board on ÖB’s declaration of war: “Don’t be naive”

The County Board’s preparedness work is focused on building a resilient and sustainable society, together with other authorities, the region, municipalities and business.

It is, for example, about providing backup power, emergency water, functioning logistics and being able to maintain schools, preschools and care for the elderly even in war or crisis situations.

– We must dimension to cope with war when we plan. This means that we will also be able to cope with a crisis situation if it arises, says Magnus Hansson.

Urges people to be prepared

His call to both private individuals and authorities is to be prepared for war or crisis.

– You can think that what is quick and easy to do, you don’t wait for it. Then you make a plan for bigger issues.

What do you think of Commander-in-Chief Micael Bydén’s call for Swedes to prepare for war?

– We in Sweden need to create a robust and sustainable society to withstand crisis and war. Based on the situation in the world around us, we should not be naive and not believe that it can happen to us. It’s an uncertain game plan right now, says Magnus Hansson.
