It is Västerås and Uppsala that have been asked to become the host city and arrange the SC final in bandy for young people, ladies and gentlemen. As far as Uppsala is concerned, there is already a dialogue with the Bandy Federation since a long time ago.
– We have had a longer agreement with Uppsala, but from last year the Swedish Bandy Federation became the organizers and the city then becomes the host city and co-organiser, says Giesela Stockhaus at the Swedish Bandy Federation.
What are your requirements?
– It’s about the city coming up with a lot of practical details and finances, of course, she says.
Improvement potential
Now a tender proposal is to be prepared in Västerås, and if the city is allowed to host the SC finals, there is already clear potential for improvement.
– The most recent finals have been too fragmented. In our concept, we intend to have a more unified bandy weekend with women’s and men’s finals on the same day, says Lenny Hallengren in the city of Västerås.
When do you decide where the bandy finals will be played?
– We await Västerås with excitement, then we will make a decision quickly, says Giesela Stockhaus of the Swedish Bandy Federation.
