Vard Fincantieri contract for a work vessel for offshore operations

(Telestock) – VARDthe Norwegian subsidiary of the group Fincantieri and among the first companies in the world in the construction of special ships, has signed a contract for the design and construction of a new Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) cutting-edge for the Norwegian company REM. This is the third unit of this type that VARD has built for REM, following the deliveries of REM Power in 2023 and REM Wind in 2024.

The new unit, which will be delivered at the end of 2026, will be designed to provide support during the construction, operation and maintenance phases of offshore wind farms globally.

The new ship, which will be built at the Vard Vung Tau construction site in Vietnamwill be 85 metres long and 19.5 metres wide, and will be able to accommodate up to 120 people, including 93 wind turbine technicians and a crew of up to 27 people.
