The change at the top comes a short distance from theacquisition of Neptune Energy Norge by the company, which will accelerate its position as an independent leader in the E&P sector in Norway. Var Energi is currently the third largest operator on the Norwegian continental shelf and the acquisition will further broaden, diversify and strengthen its growth and value creation.
Walker most recently held the position of CEO of Lundin Energy until mid-2022, when it was acquired by Akerand has previously worked with BP extension, Talisman Energy, Africa Oil and Vedanta – Cairn Oil & Gas. Has 30 years of international experience in technical, commercial and executive leadership roles. She will take over as CEO effective September 5, 2023.
