Vanessa Kamga’s emotional words after the Olympic debut, which ended in resounding success – are now highly praised by all Swedes: “So incredibly grateful”

Vanessa Kamga took everyone by storm in her Olympic debut.
The Swede was overjoyed and took a very impressed fifth place.
Now she opens up with emotional words after the great success in Paris.

At the same time as Armand Duplantis chased Olympic gold and a world record on Monday night, so did Vanessa Kamga debut in an Olympic final. And how incredibly well it went for the 25-year-old from Vilhelmina.

Kamga’s success

Already during the Olympic qualifiers, she broke a new Swedish record in the discus and would then impress even more in the final. Kamga showed all her wonderful personality and with a smile on her face she charmed all the Swedes at home on the TV sofa.

With his very first throw, the Swedish debutant took the lead in the discus final. It would also be Kamga’s best throw in the competition and it was enough for a very impressive fifth place.

Vanessa’s words

An incredible performance in her very first Olympics and Vanessa has been widely praised at home in Sweden ever since.
– Incredible. I’m doing one of my best races ever, here at an Olympics. So big, I’m really so proud, said Kamga in Max on Monday evening.
– I just wanted to have fun today, I love this. I wanted to give it my all and just take in the moment. Incredible evening, indeed.

A few days later, it has sunk in for the Swede and now she opens up about the adventure in Paris with emotional words on her social media.
“My Olympic debut has been a dream! I am so proud of myself and the work I have done! Before this championship, I had decided to give it my all and compete completely fearlessly. I was 28th in the world ranking before the competition – BAAAM 4th in the qualifier and I will be 5th at the freaking Olympics!”, she writes on Instagram.
“New Swedish record 65.14m in the qualifier and I follow it up directly with 65.05m in the final – MIGHTY! I am extremely grateful for all the incredible people I have around me – we did it!”

Vanessa Kamga has become a real blue-yellow favorite in athletics and a lot of Swedes pay tribute to her on social media.
“So happy for you and so proud. I’ve said it several times already but it can’t be said enough – you’re absolutely amazing,” one user wrote in the comments section.
“My God, what a star you are! Enjoy enjoy enjoy,” writes another.
“Big congratulations Vanessa – it’s just the beginning! A new star is born,” writes a third.
