Alfredsson has even said that he gave up the chance to get the call – but on Monday it finally happened. Alfie was one of four chosen in the fine room, and he was not the only Swede. It was the first time that Henrik and Daniel Sedin could be elected, after leaving three years ago, but even there many feared that the lack of the Stanley Cup would prevent the brothers from being appointed.
