This fall will prevent Van Vleuten from being able to compete in the next events that he had planned on his calendar, where the Clásicas de Navarra, the Itzulia Women and the Vuelta a Burgos stood out. From Movistar they point out that “in order to put the health of her runner ahead of any sporting objective, she leaves aside for the moment any planning about her return to competition.”
Van Vleuten, winner this year of the Setmana Valenciana, the Het Nieuwsblad and the recent women’s Liège-Bastogne-Liège, does keep in her calendar the idea of trying to compete in the two great events of the women’s calendar: the Giro d’Italia Donne or Giro Rosa (June 30 – July 10) and in the return of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift (July 24-31), where she starts as one of the great favorites to fight for the general.
