The Netherlands is still ‘secular’. In the meantime, loyal churchgoers are a minority in society. At the last measurement in 2022, only 12 percent of the Dutch regularly went to a religious service. Yet there is still a strong Biblebelt, or as Maarten van Rossem would rather call it a Bible zone, visible in the Netherlands that also goes straight through our province.
